DOUBLE RAKED DECK BARGE 120 x 30 x 7
General Description Deck barge to measure 120 in length overall from bow to stern. The width of the barge is to be 30 overall. Each end of the barge to have a 20 raked bottom. Head log and stern log to be 18" wide. Main body center section to be 80 long by 30 wide. Main body separated into four main body tanks by the use of interior bulkheads. Each main body section and each rake to have access through 18" diameter, flush mount, water tight, steel access hatches, for a total of six, located in deck at outer edges.

Deck, sides, bottom, to be constructed of 3/8" steel plate. Head log and stern log to be constructed of 1/2" steel plate. Three transverse bulkheads ( one located 20 from each end and one located mid-ship) and one longitudinal centerline bulkhead all constructed of 1/4" steel plate. Four corners of barge to be 18" radius 3/4" steel plate. Rub bars to run longitudinally along each side 18" below deck line. Rub bars constructed of 6" x 1" flat bar or 6" schedule 80 half pipe. All steel used in barge construction to be A-36 classification. top Deck to be longitudinally framed with 5" x 3" x 5/16" angle set on 20" centers. Sides to be longitudinally framed with 4" x 3" x 5/16" angle set on 21" centers. Bottom to be longitudinally framed with 4" x 3" x 5/16" angle set on 20" centers. Bow and stern rake to each have five truss frames cross framed with 4" x 4" x 5/16" and 3" x 3" x 1/4" angle. Head log and stern log to be reinforced with 10" x 15.3 pounds per foot channel, each piece of channel to be located at the end of each frame and truss in the rakes. Located 10 from head log and stern log will be a transverse buck frame constructed of 8" x 11.5 pounds per foot channel. The three transverse bulkheads are framed with 4" x 3" x 1/4" angle on 20" centers. Center line longitudinal bulkhead to be framed with 4" x 3" x 1/4" angle set on 26.5" centers. Twenty buck frames, five located in each main body tank, each constructed of 9" x 13.4 pound per foot channel cross framed with 4" x 4" x 5/16" and 3" x 3" x 1/4" angles. Buck frames to be set on 6 8" centers. All deck, sides, and bottom longitudinal angles tied to adjacent bulkhead with 12" x 12" x 5/16" steel plate brackets. Deck chime and bottom chime to be 3" x 3 x 3/8" angle. top Deck, sides, bottom, and all bulkheads to be welded continuous inside and out. All internal framing to be welded 3-12, 3" of welding in every 15" of length. Welding rods to be used will be Lincoln brand 6011 and 7024. All welding to meet or exceed industry standards. top Deck to have four double bitts , one located in each deck corner, constructed of 8" schedule 80 pipe. Each corner bitt to have 1/2" steel plate doublers welded to deck. Four 36" kevels located 20 off mid ship center line two on port and two starboard. Each of six flush mount, water tight access hatches to be equipped with vertical ladder constructed of 2" x 3/8" flat bar with 3/4" cold roll steel rungs. top Exterior of the entire unit is sand blasted and then sprayed with Sherwin Williams brand black tar guard. The interior of the barge is sprayed with rust preventative fluid film A. top Draft marks and name to be placed on each barge. Interior of bow to be properly marked with U.S.C.G. official number.
